Doctor doctor

Just watched the first series of David Tennant's Doctor Who, all 13 episodes back to back! I need a tardis! I have to say Dr.Who has improved considerably since I was a kid. I used to avoid watching it as a kid because it looked a bit cheesy and a bit naff but with the development of technology and some decent storylines I'm hooked. I did prefer Christopher Ecclestone but David is definitely growing on me.

Aquaman to the rescue.....

Cycling to work this week so far has proved to be very interesting! As I was leaving for work on monday morning it was raining a little bit, but not too much, so I zipped up my nice shiny new-ish waterproof jacket and set off.
Well, by the time I reached work I was absolutely drenched. The coat did it's stuff but unfortunately everything else drowned. My feet had got so wet my toes had wrinkled!! As for my jeans, they absorbed so much water that after a point they could absorb no more and it ran freely down my legs straight into my shoes!!
After 8 hours against an electric heater the jeans were dry enough to wear so I decided to cycle home again.
I couldn't understand why the journey home felt so difficult, I felt really tired and laboured under the task, until that is I turned off the main road and realised I'd been cycling into a head wind for 3 miles! The last 2, with the wind behind me, raced by.

Hollywood bunnies

Watched a few films today. It wasn't that I suddenly had a lot of spare time, it's just this site I was told about today and it's absolutely brilliant.
Even the films I would never watch were funny!

Click-click......

I never realised how much time some people have on their hands until I saw this today.

Calling Gil, you gotta help

As I said previously, if any more fish died in the tank I would be sending for the CSI boys to come down and investigate for possible skulduggery.
Well, it seems that the warning was heeded.
Not because there have been no further deaths. Oh no!!
Because there has been. I came home yesterday to find that there was another fish missing, not dead, but missing. How convenient was that eh? Not only has my housemate appeased his appetite for wanton murder but he's also stashed the evidence. He denies it of course but its all a little bit too coincidental. Unless of course it's the fish that are out to frame him by doing in one of their own and then hiding, or maybe even eating, the body.
I may have to rig up a secret webcam!

Is this an ex-fish I see before me?

About a month ago we got a fishtank for the living room. It took a week for the water in the tank to be suitable for us to introduce fish. It's a tropical tank so the water had to be right and the bacteria had to develop to the right levels. Who knew it was so complicated, I remember being a kid and getting goldfish from the fair and they went straight into the bowl! But apparently this is almost a science.
Anyway, we introduced five neon tetras into the tank.
It didn't go too well and after a couple of days three out of five were ex-fish! We fished out the bodies and changed the water. After a couple of weeks, this weekend we were told that the water was at optimum levels so we got another five neon tetras.
Unfortunately, I have to report another another death in the shoal!
It is a bit suspicious that one of my housemates has been in the house when every death has been noticed!
From now on I'm going to be keeping an eye on the rest, and if another one dies I'm getting Grissom and the CSI boys down!!!!!!

As I was walking home from longsight on saturday I decided to stop off at Venus foods to have a look around.
Inspiration struck me and I decided to do a bit of alternative shopping. I have bought several items all of which had foreign labels. It's going to be guess work when I start cooking but I reckon it'll be interesting.
Some of the labels do have a bit of english, but they obviously couldn't translate it all because the main ingredient in more than one of the tins is listed as- vegetable.
Inspiring, isn't it
